I describe my work by way of two influences, two traditions – indigenous and Taoist. Synthesizing a natural tendency for simplicity and form, the work presented is a story board; depicting a genuine experience of renewal. A moment in time when a flock of blue birds enveloped me – flying swiftly and carefully engaging a light felt play. This work engages tradition and expresses care for the oceans and dearly important species needing protection. Living a coastal climate in a temperate rain forest offers a close look at current concerns. These are large drawings on canvas are set in gold as earth is resource for nourishment and the keeping of standards.
